Mobile Veterinary Clinic Technician (RVT, Technicians, Assistants)
Overview
The Mobile Veterinary Clinic Technician specializing in spay and neuter procedures is
responsible for providing high-quality surgical and medical care to animals in a mobile veterinary setting. The technician will work with the lead veterinary technician and assist the veterinarian in all aspects of surgical procedures, from pre-operative preparation to post-operative care. The technician must ensure the safety and well-being of all animals under their care and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities-Depending on Experience
- Assist the veterinarian and lead veterinarian technician in surgical procedures, including
preoperative preparation, anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, and post-operative care.
- Perform pre-operative physical examinations and administer preoperative medications as
directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animals during surgery and recovery, ensuring proper anesthesia levels and vital
signs.
- Provide post-operative care, including monitoring for complications, administering medications, and providing wound care.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all animals treated, including surgical notes, anesthesia records, and post-operative care instructions.
- Assist with the maintenance of surgical equipment and supplies, including sterilization and inventory management.
- Educate clients on post-operative care and answer any questions they may have regarding

Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience as a veterinary assistant or veterinary technician.
- Experience in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter setting, with a focus on surgery prep,

C.A.R.E.4Paws Lead Mobile Community Medicine Veterinarian
Position Summary:
C.A.R.E.4Paws is looking for a full-time or part-time Mobile Clinic Veterinarian for our Mobile
Community Medicine & Spay/Neuter Outreach program, which provides free and low-cost spays/neuters, veterinary care and vaccine clinics for families in need in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. We have three mobile units and typically work out of one or two units
during most clinic events. The lead veterinarian provides a range of surgical procedures and
medical services, including high-quality spays/neuters, mass removals, hernia repairs, medical exams, and treatment of wounds, infections, and minor injuries. Tasks also include interpreting blood work results, pain management, and overseeing anesthesia recovery.
The lead veterinarian works closely with C.A.R.E.4Paws’ Deputy Director, lead Clinic Veterinary Technician and Clinic Services Coordinator.
C.A.R.E.4Paws works to reduce pet overpopulation and improve pet family welfare on the Central Coast.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
● Perform spays/neuters and other surgeries scheduled for the day.
● Provide medical exams and diagnose and treat patients also scheduled inside the mobile
clinic(s).
● Answer questions the Pet Wellness Clinic Coordinator may have during the walk-in Pet
Wellness Clinic, which takes place outside the mobile units from 10am to 1pm.
● Follow all protocols and procedures as set forth by C.A.R.E.4Paws.
● Work with Deputy Director and lead Clinic Veterinary Technician to ensure compliance
with all regulating bodies.
● Partner with Deputy Director and Clinic Services Coordinator to determine appropriate
surgical load and schedule.
● Ensure that appropriate vaccination recommendations are being made.
● Oversee all aspects of assigned patients, including but not limited to physical
examination, surgery, pre- and post-operative care, anesthetic protocols, patient
monitoring and emergency response.
● Partner with the lead clinic technician to ensure that the clinic is appropriately stocked.
● Work with the lead clinic technician to ensure smooth patient flow.
● Respond to medical issues involving patients, as necessary.
● Communicate any issues concerning staff or patients to the Deputy Director.
● Communicate any issues regarding the clinic’s disease control protocols, surgical
protocols, or other medical items with the lead clinic technician and Deputy Director.
● Attend monthly staff meetings and other meetings as scheduled.
● Occasionally work in physically challenging conditions, as work is completed in a
confined space where loud noises, disease and exposure to hazards may be possible.
● Have reliable transportation to and from mobile clinic locations.
● Work with the lead clinic technician and Deputy Director to continuously evaluate and
strengthen protocols and procedures.
Requirements:
● DVM degree from an accredited university
● California veterinary license or ability to obtain a California license within 30 days
● Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
● Ability to foster a positive work environment and promote a caring attitude toward all
animals and pet families
● Willingness to provide training and guidance to staff, as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience working in shelter medicine
● Experience working in high-volume spay/neuter clinics and/or mobile clinic setting
Work Schedule:
● We operate our clinics Tuesday through Friday and every other Sunday. We alternate
locations daily throughout Santa Barbara County and, about twice monthly, we work in
San Luis Obispo County.
● A few times a year, large events may require both Saturday and Sunday clinics.
● Hours are typically 9:00am-3:00pm.
Salary:
$125,000 to $145,000 for full-time position

Wellness Assistant
SUMMARY: The Wellness Assistant provides daily care and cleaning for felines at the ASAP shelter, provides support and guidance to volunteers, and assists in veterinary or surgical treatments, as directed by her supervisor and the Wellness Director. It is the responsibility of the Wellness Assistant to follow policies and procedures consistent with ASAP Cats mission, goals, and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Daily cleaning of cat housing rooms and the Vet Exam room to ensure sanitary conditions.
Daily care and feeding of all felines undergoing medical treatment or under observation.
Monitoring health status of felines and informing the Wellness Supervisor of any concerns or new developments.
Maintaining records related to feeding, care and ongoing medical treatments, as well as all
veterinary findings, treatments and vaccines using both manual and computerized systems.
Administering medical treatments as directed.
Assisting veterinarian with exams and surgeries as necessary.
Supporting the kitten foster program, including communicating with the Foster Placement
Coordinator regarding kitten foster placements and appointments for vet exams and surgeries.
Scheduling and preparation of Vet Exam room for adult and kitten check-ins and veterinary exams.
Collection of fecal and urine samples.
Maintaining an inventory of medical supplies.
Cleaning & sterilization of surgical instruments.
Making surgical packs.
Be a role model for ASAP Cats Organizational Culture Agreement. Establish ongoing positive and respectful relationships with and between all stakeholders, both in the shelter and off-site creating harmonious relationships.

Knowledge of methods, techniques, and medication used in the care and treatment of felines; physical and behavioral characteristics of domestic felines; basic animal care and nutritional needs.
Ability to handle felines properly and perform work in a humane manner, experience with cats in a vet clinic/animal shelter preferred.
Comfortable with standard office computer software, English grammar and usage; able to keep accurate records of treatment; able to learn specialized computer applications.

Able to lift 40 pounds; perform stooping, bending, and carrying.

We are looking to add a full time Licensed Veterinary Technician to our team at Main Street. Our practice has been serving the community for over 30 years at our beautiful facility that is filled with light, laughter, and joy.
We currently have 4 full time DVMs. Our practice is stocked with a full in-house lab, digital xray unit, dental xray unit, ultrasound, and we practice progressive evidence-based medicine. Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional and compassionate care for patients from admission through discharge
Provide anesthesia and surgical nursing support and post-operative recovery for dentistry patients of all levels
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot surgical, dental, and anesthetic equipment
Perform dental prophylaxis, radiographs, and extractions
Communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues
Assist with clinic appointments, client communications, and patient discharges
Qualifications:
Experience with dental prophylaxis and radiographs, and extractions
A strong skill set in phlebotomy, catheter placement, and post-operative care is essential
Ability to establish and maintain effective, respectful working relationships and customer satisfaction with all stakeholders, including department staff, medical staff, support staff, clients, Must have ability to remain composed in stressful and emergency situations
Must be able to work successfully as part of a team

This is a part-time, non-exempt position approximately 25 hours per week including Saturdays.
The salary range is $25.00 - $27.00 per hour, dependent upon experience.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Working within the guidelines set forth by the California Veterinary Medical Board, the Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) is responsible for providing daily care to the shelter population and assisting veterinarians in the spay/neuter clinic.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Registered Veterinary Technician in the State of California;

Minimum of one (1) year experience in a high paced veterinary clinic or shelter setting preferred;

Coast Veterinary Clinic in Morro Bay, CA has an immediate opening for a full time or
part time skilled Veterinary Assistant and Registered Veterinary Technician to
complement our family friendly non-corporate practice.
We are a fully equipped small animal hospital with complete in-house lab equipment
(Idexx suite), Impromed veterinary software, digital radiography, isolation unit,
ultrasound, and dental equipment. Candidates should possess strong leadership skills,
superb client and staff communication standards and exceptional veterinary technical
skills including, but not limited to, canine/feline dentistry, surgical assistance, anesthesia
fundamentals, taking radiographs, placing intravenous catheters, performing
venipuncture for running in-house and ordering reference lab work, and medication
knowledge including proper administration. A strong willingness to continually learn and
educate clients while ensuring hospital standards of care are being met is an absolute
must.
RVT’s must be currently licensed with the state of California and skilled Veterinary
Assistant candidates will have at least 1 year experience.
Coast Veterinary Clinic is open from 7:30am - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday with no after-
hours emergency shifts. We are currently closed weekends and most major holidays.

Skilled Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist
Oak Park Veterinary Clinic in Grover Beach has openings for experienced assistants to
work 35 hours/week.
We are a non-corporate, primary care practice that prides itself on individualized care for our dog and cat patients. Applicants should be versatile team players equally comfortable working both the front and back office. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm and Wednesday 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
Front office duties include reception, multi-line phones, faxing, e-mailing, scheduling
appointments, invoicing, cashiering, running reports, and checking clients in and out.
Back office duties include venipuncture, intravenous catheter placement, oral and
injectable treatments of dogs and cats, anesthesia monitoring, fluid therapy, surgical
assisting, taking x-rays, and inventory management.
Client communication skills, client education, and training of other staff are expected. A good work ethic, cooperative and friendly attitude, and ability to lift 50 pounds are also required. Punctuality, dependability, professionalism, and respect for co-workers and clients are essential. RVT license is not required but preferred; otherwise, a minimum of one to two years of
veterinary clinical experience is desired. Familiarity with Cornerstone software and
IDEXX lab equipment is a plus.
Final offer is contingent upon passing a required
background check and proof of current COVID vaccinations. Compensation is $16.00 to
$25.00/hour dependent upon proven skills, experience, and whether a licensed RVT.
Additional benefits include paid vacation, paid holidays, Simple IRA with 3% match,
